Russells Relects on AI

Russell dedicated a great deal of his life to studying the reflexive paradox. I wanted a picture of Russell smoking a pipe and reflecting on an image created by AI.

On 2023-04-21, I grabbed an image of Russell from Wikicommons. Wikicommons says the portrait was drawn from National Portrait Gallery in England. The page says the image was created by "Bassano Ltd" in 1936. NPG says they acquired the image in 1996. Their site says they releases the photograph with a creative commons license. The copyright for a photo taken in 1936 expires in

I created the image on DALL-E with the prompt: "make a colorful abstract image of bertrand russell holding a pipe." I used the GIMP photo editor to mask out the background on the right side of the photo leaving me with a picture of Bertrand Russell and an AI enhanced view of his image.
